Walkers CML Properties (Private) Limited, a subsidiary of MTD Walkers PLC, together with the Ministry of Public Administration and Management and The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka launched its newest affordable housing project, “Heritage Valley” in Kandy recently.
Minister of Public Administration and Management Honourable Ranjith Madduma Bandara laid the foundation stone last week in Kundasale, Kandy to mark the commencement of construction of the housing project. Also present at the occasion were Cabinet Minister for Development Strategies and International Trade Honourable Malik Samarawickrama, Minister for City Planning and Water Supply Honourable Rauff Hakeem, Governor of Central Province Honourable Niluka Ekanayake, District Secretary of the Kandy District Secretariat Mr. H.M.P Hitisekera, Executive Deputy Chairman of MTD Walkers PLC Mr. Jehan Amaratunga, CEO of Walkers CML Properties (Private) Limited Mr. Lalinda Kalubowila, and Provincial Councilors, senior management of MTD Walkers PLC, members of the media, civil society representatives and the general public.
“We are proud to be a part of a landmark project in this historic city and we hope to work with the community and provide employment opportunities to its residents,” said Ajith Dharmathilaka, Sales and Marketing Manager of Walkers CML Properties (Private) Limited speaking at the opening ceremony. He further added, “We look forward to continued support from the Ministry of Public Administration and Management and Board of Investment in Sri Lanka as we look at building similar housing projects in other areas in Sri Lanka,”
Situated in Kundasale, Heritage Valley comes under the “Nila Sevana” public servants housing project which aims to construct 25,000 affordable housing units with public sector employees given preferred pricing.
Situated 10 Km’s from the Kandy town and in close proximity to Government Offices, public transport and hospitals, the project offers many modern facilities including swimming pool, gymnasium, health care center, rooftop garden and jogging tracks.
