Wincon Development Ceylon (Private) Limited, a fully-owned subsidiary of MTD Walkers PLC is set to launch “Richmond Hill Residencies”, it’s very first affordable housing project in Galle in July this year. The project in Galle is also endorsed by both the Board of Investment in Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Public Administration, Local Government and Democratic Governance, and is due to be extended to all districts in the island.
MTD Walkers PLC acquired Wincon Development earlier this year and inherited the company’s mandate for constructing approximately 25,000 homes under the Nila Sevana public servants housing project. The company has already built over 1,000 affordable apartment units in the Galle District and will launch Phase I comprising 512 units with Richmond Hill Residencies. Although public sector employees are given preferred pricing, the homes will be available for the private sector as well with a unit price of 3.2 million rupees upward.
Richmond Hill Residencies is situated approximately 3km from the Galle town and less than 1KM from the prestigious Richmond College. The 512 completed units are available in a three bedroom 695 square foot variety or in a three bedroom 776 square foot design. The project also offers landscaped gardens with play areas for children, spectacular views from the upper floors, proximity to public transport, hospitals, supermarkets and the world famous Galle Fort.
